MOST ANTICIPATED OF 2020

So here we are, bracing a dive into the vast unknown that is a new decade. Five years past the point in time where Marty McFly and Doc Brown visited in Back To The Future 2. One year after we as viewers got to see Akira’ s beautiful Neo-Tokyo. You get the point. Look, we’re nowhere near flying cars or futuristic motorbikes. What we do have are state-of-the-art albums, television shows and films.

Kendrick Lamar’s DAMN. Jordan Peele’s Get Out. HBO’s Game of Thrones. How could the first year in a new set of ten even compare? As with any “Most Anticipated” list, one thing that I can guarantee is that I’ll be dead wrong on one or more of the following picks. That’s the nature of the prediction biz. And while completely subjective, these kind of predictions are almost always incendiary. But here we are. 2020. With everything from the next James Bond film to Star Trek: Picard on its way, no one can deny that the hype is real.

Okay, so without further delay, here are my top 3 picks for the 2020’s most anticipated…things.

Coming 2 America (December 18, 2020)

If Eddie Murphy’s Netflix debut film and long awaited SNL return has anything to say about things, then we appear to be in for a HUGE treat at the end of the year. I get it, the mention of Hollywood putting a modern spin on yet another classic IP is enough to give most film fans heartburn. But with the return of most of the original’s cast and an interesting take on the narrative, Coming 2 America is definitely trending up.

Y (FX on Hulu, TBA)

Please check out the graphic novel, if you haven’t already. If this show comes anywhere close to the greatness of Brian K. Vaughn’s comic series, we might be in for the next worldwide hit. However, given its arduous road to production, Y is also most likely to be one of those busts I was talking about earlier.

Run The Jewels 4 (TBA, Early 2020)

If elite level rhymes and production are your thing, then the latest effort from the best rap duo since Outkast should be on the top of your list. The combination of Killer Mike and El-P have proven to be consistently ground-breaking and hold enough chemistry and charisma to produce a 2020 highlight
